Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins (born in Mexico) is an Mexican American broadcaster. She is the host of SportsNation as well as an anchor for SportsCenter anchor. She joined ESPN in 2016. She is the daughter of the television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from when she was nine years old. This ability which helped her obtain her first position as an Univision production assistant in Miami. She was a producer for television shows that were national, like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. After this she was hired by her CBS subsidiary of St. Petersburg employed her as a reporter for sports. In 2009 she moved from Rio Grande Valley, Texas for work as an anchor for the newscast of the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. In 2009 she made the move to Rio Grande Valley in Texas, where she became a journalist for KNVO 48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. In addition, she was an anchor for weather anchors, sports anchors and forecasters. Later, she was anchor and reporter for Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. She was a reporter for all of the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. She also produced Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra as anchor. She also served as the sports anchor of Despierta America Deportes morning show. Also, she was anchor of the sports segment on Primer Impacto, a magazine show on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins' parents are originally from Veracruz Mexico. They moved at some point in Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November of 1985. There is an older sister. In 1992, the family moved to Miami after relocating to Mexico to the US. Her parents divorced soon after and in 1995 her mother got married to a naval architect called Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. The summer vacation that she stayed with her younger sister in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had gotten an employment. Antonietta had just graduated high school, however she knew her plans for what she would do. It was an amazing campus. The university also provided her with the program she was interested in. She finished school and enrolled at the university as a major in media studies. Professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM, and was student in her class, formed an ongoing relationship with the student. Mark Bergmann inspired her to be self-confident and his enthusiasm for journalism deeply influenced her. She was determined to fulfill his standards and never let him down.
